Kebab Curiosities

Kebab is a popular dish with roots in the Middle East and has since spread to the entire world. The history of kebab can be traced back to the Middle East, where it was first prepared by nomadic tribes grilling meat on sticks over an open flame.

History tells us that kebab was first sold in Paris at Greek restaurants. This explains why you can hear the famous “On se fait un grec!” in the streets of Paris! (meaning “Let’s get a Greek!”). But the French are not the only ones who renamed kebab: the Greeks actually call it “Gyros,” while the Germans kept the word “Döner.” However, this dish is also known as “Shawarma” in the Arab world or “Shish Kebab” in the USA.

Kebab – Wikipedia

The word kebab likely came to England in the late 1600s from the Persian kabāb, partially through Hindustani and Turkish. According to linguist Sevan Nişanyan, the Turkish word kebap also comes from the Persian word kabāb, meaning grilled meat.

Quality in Focus

We prioritize food safety control with a FSSC certification, a recognized certification of our management system.
The food industry faces increasing demands to demonstrate compliance with the highest standards of food safety, and we address this by having our management system certified according to FSSC 22000 – the certification system for food safety.

With the FSSC certification, we demonstrate control over quality assurance, ensuring healthy and safe food for consumers, complying with regulations, and implementing a system focused on reducing food waste, contributing to achieving UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 12 “Responsible Consumption and Production.”

This certification provides assurance to our customers and collaborators, with whom we work proudly and humbly every day.
